Introduction to Contemporary Issues in Management

This assignment and the blog posts therein have been generally enjoyable. I find I am better able to grasp concepts when given an assignment on the topic versus just memorizing for a test. This specific subject area, Contemporary Issues in Management has been a topic area that is needed in my career but also beneficial in my personal life as well. Some of the topics discussed such as emotional intelligence are among my favorite topics of discussion in counseling and in business. Other areas of topics covered that have been beneficial include decision making, challenge of organizational change, organizational structures, subcultures, training and development, and differences in men and women's communication styles. This blog focuses on a great deal of what the text discussed but utilizes a number of various sources of information, as well as personal experience of my own, both in my field of counseling and personal life.
